God Before Government - Because No System Can Replace His Design
The U.S. Constitution was crafted to establish a government that preserves order and liberty - not dependency and control. At its core, it was designed to protect the God-given rights of individuals, ensuring that government exists to maintain justice and order so that people can freely pursue their lives, care for their families, and serve their communities.
I am not anti-government. Government is necessary to provide order, ensure justice, and protect the freedoms that allow individuals to live, work, and contribute to society. But the government was never meant to be our provider, guide, or savior - Jesus is.
The Trap of Comfort
It’s easy to seek security in systems rather than in faith. A government that promises to provide for every need feels safe, but history has shown time and again that when people trade freedom for comfort, they end up with neither.
We see this pattern throughout history. When Israel rejected God’s leadership and demanded a king (1 Samuel 8), they chose a human system over divine order - and it led to oppression. Likewise, when societies shift from self-governance under God to reliance on government, they lose the very freedoms they sought to protect.
Dependence on government leads people to believe that someone else is responsible for their well-being, success, or future. But you were created to live with purpose and personal responsibility. No system can replace what happens when people walk in alignment with their design, contributing to society as only they were uniquely made to do.
The Call to Growth
What if every person lived in alignment with who they were created to be?
If each of us took ownership of our gifts, strengths, and responsibilities, we wouldn’t need a system to manage us, because we would be self-led under God’s authority. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), designed with unique gifts that only you can bring to the world. When you fully embrace your design, you naturally contribute - creating, innovating, serving, and impacting in ways the government never could and never should.
We see this throughout history. The early church in Acts flourished not because of government intervention but because believers lived aligned with God’s design - sharing resources, supporting each other, and serving out of love.
Imagine a world where every person is living in alignment with their God-given design:
Families supporting each other without relying on broken systems.
Communities thriving because people serve out of love, not obligation.
Businesses flourish because individuals are using their unique talents to create value.
A thriving nation is built on personal responsibility, generosity, and integrity - not forced redistribution or control. When we surrender to God’s authority, love Him, and love others as ourselves, we create a society where the government exists to maintain order and provide for the common defense, but the people sustain themselves and each other.
The Power of Alignment
The optimal government upholds justice, protects against evil, and defends freedom - but it is not a replacement for faith, family, or community.
History is filled with warnings of what happens when government takes the place of God. Nations that embraced authoritarian control - Soviet Russia, Maoist China, Nazi Germany - did not just expand government; they replaced faith with the state and crushed personal freedom. When people reject God’s design and fail to take ownership of their lives, they inevitably look to the government to fill the void.
But when people take ownership - when they step into their God-given identity and mission - government doesn’t have to overreach because people are self-led, self-sustained, and operating in alignment with who they were uniquely created to be.
The Challenge for Mavericks

Are you trusting in government or in the One who truly saves?
Are you waiting to be provided for, or are you stepping into the responsibility God created you for?
Are you living aligned with who you were uniquely made to be, or are you expecting a system to dictate your path?
